This program allows students to specialize in personnel and human resource topics. The skills and knowledge provided enhance the ability to effectively attain and maintain an organization’s most valuable resource—people. Graduates will be qualified to obtain entry-level human resource management positions such as benefits coordinator, personnel records supervisor, training and development coordinator, and recruitment specialist.
Upon successful completion of this program, graduates will be able to:
describe the business enterprise concept, including ethical considerations.
demonstrate effective oral communication.
demonstrate and integrate computer literacy.
apply fundamental accounting principles and procedures.
apply critical thinking, team building and problem solving skills.
apply legal principles, particularly rules of contracts, to all business activities.
describe business procedures for compliance with various human resource regulations and the law.
describe supervisory skills and standards for human resource management procedures.
analyze issues involved in organizational recruitment, training, and development.

Counseling Programs at Lehigh University provide students with a thorough background in human behavior and in the counselor's role in contemporary American society, as well as fundamental counseling and intervention skills.
Three major tenets underlie all counseling programs:
The program is essentially educative / preventive / developmental in nature.
Counselors must work in an increasingly diverse cultural environment.
School counselors must understand and be prepared to adapt to changing societal conditions and the demands placed upon communities and school systems.

CRITERIA FOR CONSIDERATION
Designed for students who have successfully passed or whose goal is to pass the National Skill Standards or credentialing exam(s) in a designated technical field. It is intended for those students whose educational and occupational goals are not met by the college’s other occupational and transfer majors. It allows students to build a sequence of courses to satisfy specific skills for employment.
This major may be of particular interest to potential and current area vocational-technical high school students as well as graduates of area vocational-technical high schools. This program is not designed or intended for students planning to transfer.

This Human Services Management (HSM) program is designed to prepare middle- to upper-level managers for community-based programs in special education. Students also have the option of a Special Education Teaching Track. Graduate students in the program provide direct services and support for individuals with developmental disabilities who live in the surrounding community. The program accepts full-time graduate students who are interested in full-time employment as counselors/graduate students with Target Community and Educational Services, Inc., while they are completing requirements for the M.S. degree. Target is a nonprofit agency affiliated with McDaniel College that provides services to adults with developmental disabilities
