The major strand of study is the management of people within an organization, their recruitment and selection, training and development, appraisal and remuneration. In addition, students study the theory and practice of relations between employers, employees, unions and government.
Human Resource Management can be combined with almost any area, although some appropriate combinations include Behavioural Science or Communications (from the School of Arts & Sciences).
Applicants applying for a graduate certificate must have earned an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited college or university, with a minimum undergraduate quality point average (QPA) of 2.7. Students not meeting this requirement may be reconsidered for admission after completing one (1) prescribed course in the certificate program. Other admission standards may apply depending on the certificate program. Please refer to the specific certificate program for details. The Graduate Certificate Program Application for Admission is available online or by calling the DGCE at 508-626-4550. The application fee for the Graduate Certificate is $50.
These graduate certificates are 12-credit / four courses within the Master of Administrative Science (MAS) program. The following certificate can be taken on a matriculating or non-matriculating basis and also can be taken as post-graduate certificates for students who have earned a graduate degree. The minimum number of students per class is ten.

The graduate program in Human Movement is planned to meet the needs of practising Health and Physical Education teachers, outdoor educators and community recreation specialists for advanced academic qualification.
