At the beginning of the 21st century, this is a fascinating time to be studying and working within urban regeneration. The government has placed high importance on renewing Britain’s communities, developing decent places for people to live in and high quality towns and cities with a wide range of activities.
It has also been recognised that there are not enough people with the right skills to undertake this demanding and rewarding area of work. This course has been developed to meet the urgent needs of urban regeneration employers, practitioners and the large number of people who volunteer with urban regeneration agencies and organisations.
As you progress through your degree you will have opportunities to develop your interests in areas such as employment and training, social policy, economic development and housing and take up new ideas. Above all the degree will provide for your personal, as well as academic development.

Our MAs received unconditional accreditation in late January 2004. South Bank is the only planning school in London to be awarded advanced accreditation.
