A Multidisciplinary Curriculum
The Women’s Studies major offers both freedom and opportunity. Following the completion of two foundational courses - Women and Society and Feminist Theories - students select six courses from a variety of disciplines and then create their own specialization. All courses offered examine issues and activities inherent to the field of Women’s Studies. Students select an area of concentration like Women in the Arts; Women, Science and Health; Women and Politics, Women and Sports; and Women and International Studies.
An Outstanding Faculty
All professors teaching the Women’s Studies courses are committed to guiding students into the complex world of feminism and gender and to teaching critical thinking, research, and communication skills. As a Women’s Studies major, you will study with multidisciplinary experts in feminist theories, women’s leadership, philosophy, research methods, global economic and work issues, women’s health issues, and psychology, among others. You will also experience artistic productions from a variety of cultures.
