UG in Research Education & Human at Southeastern Louisiana University

Students who are eligible for this program will
Have earned at least 60 credit hours, and
Have at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average, and
Be enrolled in one of the following courses:
FCS 442/542 (for FCS majors);
SW 400, 402, or 495 (for SW majors); or
any 300 or 400 level course in EDUC, EPSY, or ETEC (for Education majors).
Application Process
SURE application forms are available either from the office of the Dean or Department Heads in the College or on College and departmental websites. Applications must be submitted no later than November 15th for research to occur in the Spring semester and August 1st for research to occur during the Fall semester. Applications for academic year research (Fall/Spring semesters) must be submitted by August 1st. Students will apply in conjunction with a faculty sponsor, whose signature and brief endorsement must be on the application form. Completed applications will be reviewed by a committee of faculty appointed by the Dean of the COEHD.
Funding
SURE awards will range fom one-hundred to three-hundred dollars and may be spent for materials, supplies, copying, and approved field travel. Applicants will provide a proposed
budget on the applicantion form. All State and University regulations and deadlines will apply to purchasing, travel, and other expenditures. Funds will be provided by the Dean’s office using Academic Enhancement funds.

Program Recognition

SURE students will be recognized at the COEHD Honors Convocation, and their findings will be published on the COEHD webpage. They will also be encouraged to submit their research to a professional conference and to present with their faculty sponsors.

Course overview

This program was developed and proposed by the Economics Faculty of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski, Sofia, Institute for the Management of enterprises (IUP), University Paris 1 Pantheon - Sorbonne, France.

The program offers training in accordance with the highest international standards for training of existing managers, the objective of the program is to prepare managers with European qualification in human resources and corporate responsibility.

Is targeted to candidates with professional experience in management and organization of enterprises, to senior managers of large multinational companies in all sectors, as well as directors in the departments of human resources. The task is to provide a direct link between theory and practice and therefore half of the teaching staff is composed of actively operating managers. International Workshop in France will make it possible to implement direct personal contacts with leaders of the French and international companies.

The training resulted in obtaining two diplomas - one hand, the diploma of “Master of Business Administration - Human Resources Management (Social responsibility of undertaking) issued by the Economic Faculty of Sofia University” St. University, and another graduate of the State Ministry of Education of the Republic of France - Spécialité Professionnelle “Management des Ressources Humaines et de la Résponsabilité Sociale de l’Entreprise” of IAE of Paris, Université Paris 1, Panthéon - Sorbonne.

Teaching program is done in English.

The training program is intended for all candidates pursuing the manager’s activities in the geographical area covered by the following countries: Bulgaria - Bosnia and Herzegovina - Croatia - Greece - Macedonia - Romania - Serbia.

The program is open to candidates holding a diploma of Bachelor or Master degree, business manager and exercising at least 3 years.

The selection of candidates is based on documents and oral interview.

Students accepted for training will be recorded simultaneously at the University Paris 1 Pantheon - Sorbonne, Institute for the Management of enterprises, France, and the Sofia University “St. University, Faculty of Economics, Bulgaria.

Total cost for training is 8000 euro and includes:

1. General training

3. Personal library of every student, including primary literature on all subjects taught,

4. Right of access to the Internet database of the University of Paris 1 - Pantheon, Sorbonne,

5. Ten-day seminar in France at the end of training, which includes: further work on the subject, attendance at international meetings with companies and their HR directors.
